This week at the Market Chef Erin is back to showcase the fruits (and veggies!) of the season with a free, live cooking demonstration at 9:30 AM that is more fun than any one I've seen on TV-- you can smell and taste the results! Harvey "The Peach Dude" Webb will be here with fresh, local peaches and we will be lucky to have him because many of the Southern peach crops have frozen this year and are unavailable. Hot tip: get there early if you want peaches, because he sells out of his truck-load each week.
The vendors we will have this week are Webb's Orchard, Bud's Plants and Produce, Cindy's Greenhouses, Indian Creek Farms, Ladybug Farms and Bakery, Lucky Fish Seafood, the Master Gardeners, Riverbend Heritage Farm, Suzie Q's Farm, Thomas Family Farms, Mini Me Sweets, Two Moons Family Farms, Crafty Lady, Helm's Apiary, Kim's Kitchen, North End Farm, Sandy's Produce, and Lineberger Farms.
At the Market, you will find fresh & local, in-season peaches, blackberries, zucchini, squash, tomatoes, a variety of artisan breads, tasty baked treats, seafood, chicken, pork, beef, honey, and micro greens, as well as beautiful plants you can take home for your own garden. Crafty Lady will have beautiful, handmade glass creations and the Master Gardeners will stand ready to answer your nagging gardening questions from their booth-- just try to stump them, it's part of the fun! In all seriousness, I learn something from them every week they are here, and it's great to have their knowledge as a friendly resource.
Stop by the Farmers Market booth as well if you have any questions or just to say "hi!" Thanks for your support as a Friend of the Market, and I look forward to seeing you there!
