This Week at the Market: 5-12-18
This week at the Market it's Opening Day! And it's the biggest Opening Day we have ever had, with 15 farmers and 2 artisans coming to the Market this Saturday, May 12, 2018, from 8:00 AM until noon. The Market will be in the same location as the last couple of years, at 226 S. Main St., Mount Holly, which is the parking lot of Manor on Main.
Rylee's Roots- beautiful & fun succulents perfect for gifts or for you!
Caleb Davis will be here (check out his website here), playing live at the Market with his signature sound as a one-man band with layered music that builds and makes him fun to watch as well as listen to. Coming to hang at the Market and listen to the music under the big tents is free and kids love it too.
Our vendors will be bringing all fresh & local produce in season, and it's great to meet your farmer and be able to ask questions and buy food directly from the source. This week it's late springtime, so the farmers are bringing strawberries, cut flowers for Mothers' Day, adorable potted succulents that are also perfect Mothers' Day gifts, fresh greens and other vegetables, pasture-raised chicken & pork, eggs, turkey, fish, artisan bread & baked goods, flowers for you to take home and plant as well as potted flowers in beautiful arrangements, goat cheeses & goat milk lotions, artisan soaps, artisan glass, and olive oils & balsamics. Wow!
Without further ado, the vendors who will be at the Market this week are: North End farms, Riverbend Heritage farms, Indian Creek, Cindy's Greenhouses, Rylee's Roots, Backyard Farm, Bud's Plants, Ladybug Bread, Granny's Goodies, Suzie Q, Lucky Fish, Lineberger's Maple Springs Farm, Nature's Way, Zen Bubble Soaps, Crafty Lady, and Grapes & Olives On Tap. Many of our vendors will be old friends to you and we have some new faces as well that I can't wait for you to meet.
We are also pleased to announce the launch of the POP Club, which stands for "Power of Produce." This fun club for kids is part of a national movement dedicated to empowering children to make healthy food choices through programming at farmers markets. The POP Club program equips families with nutrition education by providing farmers and children with the opportunity to connect over fresh, local produce. And kids love it!
