This week at the Market, Saturday morning, May 28, 2018, the multi-talented Rev. Janet DeWater, pastor at the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Holly, will show us what's cooking in early summer. She moved cross-country to here with her husband last year from Redmond, WA, to become the new minister at the Presbyterian Church, but in her varied experiences, she formerly taught at the Wilton School! She lists "all things chocolate" among her passions, but for our Market she will give a free cooking demonstration followed by a tasting focusing on the flavors of early summer veggies, including salads and how to use bok choy. I look forward to learning a thing or two from a new chef at our Market.
Our vendors this week will be Bud's Nursery, Lineberger's Maple Springs Farm, Indian Creek, Riverbend Heritage Farm, Backyard Farm, Ladybug Bread, North End Farm, Lucky Fish, Suzie Q, Cindy's Greenhouses, Nature's Way Farm, and Zen Bubble Soaps. You can expect to find fresh, local food in season, including veggies (including bok choy!), strawberries, chicken, pork, cut flowers, herbs, artisan bread, fish, beautiful plants, and handmade soaps.
The friendly Master Gardeners will be back and will be available to answer gardening questions or help you get your soil tested in your own garden. The Lion's Club will be there selling brooms as a fundraiser for their efforts with children. Lastly, the POP (Power of Produce) Club for children will be back for another weekly activity, so kids come see them at the Market!
Friends, fresh food, & fun, all happening under the tents at your local Farmers Market, Saturday, May 26, 2018, from 8:00 AM until noon. See you there!
